Available in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba, this blended learning Standard First Aid course covers information needed to respond to a medical emergency either on the job or at home. To receive Standard First Aid Certification, the online theory and in-class skills training and exam must be successfully completed.

ONLINE STANDARD FIRST AID COURSE TOPICS

- Fractures, dislocations, and sprains
- Heart attacks, angina, and strokes
- Unconsciousness
- Wounds and bleeding
- Head and spinal injuries
- Burns

- Frostbite
- Heat illnesses
- Poisoning
ONLINE STANDARD FIRST AID COURSE DURATION:
Total course training time is approximately 13 hours which includes approximately 6.5 hours of online theory in addition to the in-class training session and exam. Note: Total training time may vary by province.
ONLINE STANDARD FIRST AID COURSE ASSESSMENT:
Testing conducted throughout the online portion of this blended learning Standard First Aid course is designed to reinforce the information presented. A mark of 80% must be achieved to advance to successive sections of the online course. Additionally, the successful completion of an in-class practical assessment and examination are required to receive First Aid certification.
ONLINE STANDARD FIRST AID COURSE CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION:
Upon successful completion of the online portion of the course, a Proof of Completion certificate will be available for download and printing. This certificate must be presented to the in-class training instructor in order to participate in the skills assessment and exam.
Full first aid certification is achieved once the online and in-class portions of the course including the skills training and written final exam have been successfully completed.
This course has been approved by both the Alberta and Manitoba governments.
